Introduction to Maranta:

Calatheas are native to tropical regions of the Americas. Now they are widely planted in various tropical regions and are also distributed in southern China. Calatheas like warm, humid and semi-shady environments. They are not cold-tolerant, afraid of dryness, and should not be exposed to strong sunlight. They are very sensitive to moisture. They like fertile, loose and well-drained humus soil. Calatheas are propagated by division.

Calatheas have dense branches and leaves and a plump plant shape. The leaf surface is dark green and shiny, and the back of the leaves is purplish red, forming a sharp contrast. They are excellent indoor shade-loving foliage plants.
