Epithelantha micromeris

Ariocarpus retusus, commonly known as Rock Cactus or False Peyote, is a slow‑golding, geophytic cactus species native to northern Mexico.
It has a highly distinctive, flattened, rosette‑like growth form, with thick, tuberculate, grayish‑green stems that blend perfectly into rocky limestone habitats. The plant lacks obvious spines, making it look more like a stone than a typical cactus.
In late summer and autumn, it produces showy white, pale pink or pale yellow flowers at the center.
Ariocarpus retusus is highly prized by cactus collectors worldwide for its unique appearance, rarity, and slow growth. It is protected in its natural habitat and listed under CITES, so international trade is restricted to legally propagated individuals only.
It is considered a classic, high‑end collector species in the succulent and cactus market.
