Aztekium ritteri

Aztekium ritteri, commonly known as Aztekium , is an extremely rare, slow‑growing miniature cactus endemic to Mexico. It has a small, globular stem with distinct, regular ribs and a textured, almost geometric appearance, and produces small white or pinkish flowers. It is one of the most prized collector cacti in the world.
It is listed in CITES Appendix I: international commercial trade of wild specimens is strictly prohibited. Only legally nursery-propagated plants with official documentation may be traded internationally.
Needs very bright, filtered light, excellent drainage, and a mineral‑rich, gritty soil mix. Water very sparingly during the growing season; keep completely dry in winter to prevent rot. Avoid high humidity, frost, and overwatering. Best grown in a small, shallow pot with good air circulation.
