Euphorbia abdelkuri

Euphorbia abdelkuri, commonly known as Abdelkuri spurge or Socotra spurge, is a rare and endangered perennial succulent shrub in the family Euphorbiaceae, genus Euphorbia. It is endemic exclusively to Abd al-Kuri Island, a small island of the Socotra Archipelago in Yemen, with an extremely narrow natural distribution range.

In the wild, it grows on arid limestone plateaus of Abd al-Kuri Island, adapted to extreme drought, high temperature and well-drained rocky soil with almost no annual rainfall. Due to its ultra-narrow distribution, habitat fragility and illegal collection, it is listed as Endangered (EN) on the IUCN Red List and included in CITES Appendix Ⅱ-its international trade is subject to the strictest regulations, requiring a special CITES export/import permit, and any unauthorized trade is prohibited.
