About maintenance
It likes a cool, dry and sunny environment and well-drained sandy soil. The more sufficient the light and the greater the temperature difference between day and night, the brighter the color of the leaves. It is suitable for outdoor cultivation. When there is insufficient light or too much soil moisture, it grows too long. The whole plant is light green or dark green, and the leaves are sparse and elongated, accelerating upward growth, which seriously affects the ornamental value and may even die due to the obstruction of photosynthesis of the plant. Because the water content inside the plant is high, it is easy to rot in an overly humid environment. Avoid excessive watering. To avoid water accumulation at the roots, it is best to use a pot with drainage holes at the bottom. When planting, novices can choose red pottery pots with good air permeability. It is advisable to use sandy soil with good drainage and air permeability to facilitate the removal of excess water and the growth of plant roots; it can be prepared with 1/3 of leaf mold, sandy soil and garden soil. Repot once every 1 to 2 years in spring, and cut off the necrotic old roots. Move indoors when the temperature is below 5 degrees, and control water when the temperature is above 35 degrees Celsius or below 5 degrees Celsius. During the high temperatures in summer, pay attention to ventilation and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun to avoid sunburn.
